Actually, Sierra made Hellfire. Not sure how that happened, but I'm sure that's part of why 2 of the 3 expansion classes are disabled, etc... heh.

True, but the first actual Cow quest and major Cow bits were in Hellfire, in D1, made by Sierra, not in D2. In D1 pre-Sierra, it was just a part of the scenery... Heh.

Possibly it has something to do with the fact that the FSS people are people that used to work at Blizzard on the Diablo series? Y'know, and that they keep making references back to the Diablo series? Including repeatedly making references to the cow level and other such things? And that in the post, 10-15 or so back, someone started to talk about how the whole Blood Moon thing reminds them about the history of the Cow bits in the Diablo series? And that it's just moved flowingly along there?

And yeah, the jokes about a secret cow level is why Sierra made the cow quest and so on, but... that was the first actual solid cow-bit.
