Its just a beefed up warcraft. And the graphics are 5 years outdated, just like wow. This isn't 21'st century gaming at all. Look at the in-game cinematics- its exactly like warcraft. Character movements as well are exactly like warcraft.

What else could you expect from blizzard? They don't have the makers of diablo anymore, they try to pretend they do, but they just don't.

Im a fan of the original Diablo II, and a fan of the people who made it - the people who know how to make a real game. And there real game owns - Hellgate London.

They took everything from HG:L, look at the control bar - exactly like HG:L draggging attacks into quick slots, and look at the exp bar, exactly like HG:L - its even split up into little parts and the map is in the top right too instead of in the center like regular diablo.

These guys are trying to put themselves in the shoes of the makers of diablo, but they just fail.

I hope you guys realize the d3 is going to be a must-pay montly subscription??

And what the hell is up with blizzard using fucked up Arabic opera in all their movies. Its not cool at all - its fucking stupid.

I have low hopes for diablo 3. The makers of diablo are the real heroes, blizzard shouldn't pollute the diablo series with these new guys.

I dont think that Hg:L community will die, because the game is really great and fun to play, plus if Blizzard will charge people to play Diablo 3 online just like most of the people here say they will i doubt Hg:L players will want to leave this great game. Unless there r some real freaks and must play the new installment to the Diablo saga. I myself wont even buy this game if there will be monthly fee 4 the online play, and like Kulith said the tottaly different team made it so it probably wont be as good and entertaining as diablo2. It's true that the graphics of d2 cant be comapred to d3 but graphics is not the most important thing, it's the playability, the entertainment that the game brings, grapihcs only cant make the game great if the rest sucks. Btw i also noticed the experience bar when i first saw the gameplay video . Lame of blizz to copy Hg:L designers.

Also did u guy notice the mini map in the gameplay video? Taken from Hg:l also except the map is not inside the circle but looks just like in Hg:L

That seriously pissed me off as well. It's just like Warcraft 3/WoW, with a touch of Dungeon Siege and some copied stuff from HG:L. I also have very low hopes for it...It really, REALLY feels like they did those videos in like, a day or so before announcement. Kind of like: "Oh, let's announce Diablo 3 in a day, we'll need something to show tho"

I agree with you in every way Kulith. Some morons who play D2 can't see past the announcement - it was just blizzard getting outshined by other companies, specially FSS.

also the trailer being done in one day? your kidding right.... im pretty sure they were able to show an assload more of what FSS showed when they first announced their game.

just searched for it. they showed some of the fighting. mostly cinematics that look worse then blizz's. they didnt show skills or areas which theres only what like 4 different types of places. sewers, streets, tunnels type of thing, and like a cathedral. so theres another thing diablo has over it. more different looking places. FSS also didnt show any skills for use nor some or any of the classes.

now i could of looked at the wrong trailer. if i did please show me the right one. im always up to be proven wrong.

Icelord diablo3 hasn't even come out yet and you are ALREADY saying it has all these things superior to Hellgate. Get real. As far as you know RIGHT NOW, there are 2 settings in d3: cathedral and forest.

Also, I had already specified what things d3 clearly copied off hellgate simply by viewing the trailer in my post. Read it again.

And how can you say that it doesn't look like warcraft? Reread my post, then watch the gameplay trailer again. That enviornment looks EXACTLY like warcraft.

only thing im saying thats superior is the release trailer that was said was terrible.
i was also saying that i noticed nothing copied off. everything has been used in their other games.

theres a hotbar on WoW..... you drag skills you want to use on it. they also have the standard mouse wheel you can use as they said.
xp bar is just stupid to say was taken. WoW has the same thing. ill give you the mini map. but then again every game they have has a mini map.

the music matches imo. thats more of an opinion then a statement.
the map layout i read theres going to be different environments. and also taking things from d2 it should be in d3 also.

noone is saying its exactly like wow. and I should have specified WOW when I said warcraft, my bad.

Im just saying there are more similarities between d3 and wow than d2. And, like I said, it follows wow's legacy of using outdated graphics. Have you played hgl? You've seen what dx10 and high end quality graphics are like? the d3 trailer doesn't even come close. And yes, those graphics ARE final. They've already finished the engine as you can see, or else they wouln't have been able to give us a gameplay trailer. So those graphics you just saw are final, and they fail. A few shiny axes and splashes of blood is meaningless.

And you failed to mention the cinematic dialogue that rather pissed me off. Its exactly like wow.

Whether or not d3 is superior to the release trailer to hgl is kinda pointless. HGL and nearly all other games reveal their game way way way before the engine is finished and the game is even remotely playable. Usually they release things as they move forward. What blizzard did was unusual, even for blizzard. Look at sc2, they said they where working at it and then nobody heard anything more about that for ages. So its sort of a pointlesss and meanigless argument to make.

And gameplay/storyline? D2 wasn't known for its storyline, and neither is hgl. The only hope for d3 is to try to leech off the community hooked on d2 with promises of superior gameplay in order to sell copies.
