it works perfectly fine for me. i don't know what's wrong with you, but i've used the crafter's window to destroy a few unwanted quest items.

Yeah, crafter window. If it doesn't work for you you're probably not in the right place or not doing the right thing.

you just have to make sure that the item you are trying to drop on the ground won't fit into your inventory when you close the window. easy with big items..
