Really impressive, tempted to make an Elite Mm when .07 comes out, build tips would be cool.

Sry for replying to this so late. Ok here it is:

Base Stat:
Acc - 66
Str - 41
Sta - 149
Will - 106

And I still have 30 unused points remaining and more 1 stat point side quests to complete.

My build:
http://hellgate.ingame.de/skilltree/marksman/?l=50&s=4016a1071306800020000000000

As far as my stats go, I didn't follow any general standard (ie, 1 acc, 2 sta, 2 will each time I lvl'ed). It was bascially a need-to basis, so I could equip my armor & mods. I would have liked my acc to been higher, but the equipment feeds are very high.

NOTE: Please, I have never written a Guide/Build before, and I really don't plan on doing so anytime soon. You asked for my base stats and build, and all I'm trying to do is explain why I chose the skills I selected and perhaps my own opinion regarding these skills. If you guys have any specific questions, I will try to answer them to the best of my ability.

My Build:

When I first started out this game in its early beta stage, my goal was to try and emulate my FPS (first person shooter) playing style: It is not your typical cookie-cutter MM build (rapid fire tree build). So naturally, I had to invest one point into xplosive nades, and I quite enjoy using them. I also use Shock and Awe (skill is on my switch). And in most FPS games, we're able to crouch at will to steady our gun, and therefore, shoot more accurately. So naturally, I had to invest in the tactical stance tree. However, I didn't completely neglect the rapid fire tree, because multishot skill is essential. I have this skill on switch; I didn't find this skill on a weapon till lvl 37 so I had to do w/o it for a while. But that wasn't a problem at all for me, and I don't even use this skill that often. So for the most part, I crouch (tactical stance) to shoot and kill, strafe to dodge any incoming missile attacks, kite when against certain boss mobs, and chuck nades that those foolish enough to chase after me.

Nades (short for grenades):

I know a lot of ppl have complained about its physics, and coming from years of playing FPS, I do understand; However, this is NOT a pure FPS game, and shouldn't have to follow any other game's physics. So, I've gotten used to it, and I can honestly say I can throw my nades quite accurately. And to those that complain that they can't use nades for those mobs right in front of them....try and throw it directly below you, and see where it lands (all things remaining constant: on flat ground)...
  • Xplosive Nade - This skill scales with your lvl. So even with one point, at lvl 50 it's currently doing 101-120 fire damge, and ignite attack strength is 810. I know a lot of ppl say that it's not worth it for only 1 point. But again, I am just simply trying to emulate my FPS playing style, and having a nade is a must and feels natural and I never expect it to be a one hit kill. However, even at even one point, it does a fair amount of damage, and even if the damage is negligible (I don't think so, but most ppl do) the ignite atk str is high enough to ignite most mobs I've encountered.

  • Napalm/Shock and Awe - This also scales with your lvl. I haven't invested any points into this tree, because as we know, skills pionts are very limited. However, I always did plan on using Shock and Awe from the get-go...I just would have to search for a weapon that had this skill so i can equip on my switch. Why Shock and Awe over Napalm? Shock and Awe just simply does more damage. I know shock effect is pretty much useless in PvE, but look at the skill description. Shock and Awe does more damage and for a longer period of time (10 sec vs Naplam's 2 sec). And from my experience, Naplam doesn't ignite too well.

Stances:
  • Tactical Stance- I know what your thinking: If I'm a tactical stance build, why didn't I Max out tactical stance? Well, as I've stated above, skill points are very limited and I felt that I just couldn't afford to spend more on this skill. I thought it would be better to distribute the remaining 5 points into the other skills. I still have 26% critical chance when I'm in my stance. I use this skill almost every time (except when fighting certain boss mobs and certain rare/legendary/named mobs) for it's inherent ability to shoot more accurately (50% increase in accuracy), shoot further (range increases by 25%), and to shoot the mob at a quicker velocity (velocity increases by 25%).

  • Overshield - I know a lot of ppl think shields are simply a joke and completely worthless. But IMO, I think they're life savers if used correctly. When I'm in my stance, I have over 1000 shield (I wish I could have spent more points into this skill...). And yes, sometimes a certain mob can one hit me completely killing off my shield, and this is why many ppl think that shields are worthless, cuz they think all mobs can do that. But I'm here to tell you that not all mobs can completely kill off your shield with a single blow. Yes, certainly some mobs have more shield overload damage % than others. But this is where you have to become familiar with the game and the mobs that roam it. For the most part, I know when I'm safe and when I should get up and run. For those mobs I know that can't one hit kill my shield, I sit there letting them take a few swings at me. And once my shield approaches 1/4, I get up and get back down to my stance: It replenishes your shield back to full or almost full depending on how much shield you had left (this does NOT work when they have completely taken out your shield). Or I just simply use my shield booster (I carry a lot of them).

  • Elemental Visions - Again I wish I could have put more into this skill. At only 2, I don't know how helpful it can be. But I do hope in the future, I'll get a gun with + to all MM skill or even +2/+3 to this skill.

  • Snipe - I love to snipe. It has always been my choice of weapon in every FPS game I've played, especially CounterStrike. I love using this just for the fun factor, it's makes the game that much more entertaining for me. And to those that are quick to say MM are an easy class to play because we have snipe and are able to one shoot kill everything, you're wrong. Certainly, in normal mode, you can probably one shoot kill rares/legendaries/named, but in Elite mode and in Elite Nightmare, doesn't work that way. And when u do snipe a mob, it'll aggro the surrounding mobs, causing them to chase after you. With a 4 sec delay between snipe shots, u can't snipe for long. But I do love taking half or more of their health from a great distance before they all get pissed and come chasing after me. And to my fellow MM that enjoys using a high rof guns in snipe mode, just be careful of your surroundings, cuz your armor decreases by 50% (we MM already lack armor as it is) and some mobs can one hit kill you if you're not careful while you're in snipe mode.

Beacon Skill Tree:
  • Beacon - I hope this obvious

  • Elemental Beacon - Same applies to this...

  • MultiBeacon - This isn't as important to me. I rather do Mass amount of damage to a single mob (Beacon), then to do a little more damage to a group of mobs.

Boost Skills:
  • Dead Eye - Self explanatory right?

  • Ricochet - Why didn't I max this out? well...first of all at 90% it's high enough as it is, and we will eventually find + to all MM skills, and thereby maxing this out for me. If I had maxed this out at 100% and found a + to all Mm skill...would a 110% be better?

  • Reflected Shot - I really wanted to max this, but decided to use the one point into Elemental Beacon, personal choice.

  • Homing Shot - I personally hate this skill. I've tested it out w/ my SC char in test center a couple of times. I use a slow rate of fire gun (my Favorite gun: Cluster Rifle), and does more bad than good. Because of the slow rate of fire, I can actually see the missile shooting from my gun. And when homing shot procs, it randomly chooses a target, even though I had my cursor on a mob that was a few meters in from of me, and would have been wiser to kill that off first since it was the closest, it decided to curve right/left to another mob of its own choice..ugh. I've also tested it with my SC char's "The Veteran" Rifle, and to be honest, I can't justify putting any points into this skill...simply because I can't tell the difference ! But that's just me....
