You can play online for free with access to everything you have in single player along with obviously playing with friends.
Paying the 10 gets you the "elite" status. Once you paly through normal online you can make a character on elite which is with all other paying members. There is some content not available to free members like zones and the headhunting/skill relocators. Also you get all of the new updates with elite service

Oh Elite mode is available for non-subs. Only Hardcore and Hardcore Elite are subscriber only. As for the content, that's correct, us subscribers get some godly exclusive content (Stonehenge = Level up heaven)

I went from 15-30 there, could have been 15-50rxx, but I wanted to go to NM first, now as soon as I get to Templar Base I'll just do Stonehenge headhunting/lvling till I'm 50rXX

i went to stonehenge @ 15lvl with my thorn guru, and atm im 50lvl / 21 rank level gained all exp in there in.. bit under 1 week? :3
i think my guru is somewhere @ templestation still in normal
