Im going to buy HellgateLondon. I've read about the Elite modus and i'm not sure how that exactly works.
I already know that monsters in elite modus are stronger and drop better items. Actually, its harder. But how does that work? Before you leave an Underground Station, can you choose between normal and elite mode? Or have you to create a chatacter for normal oder elite only?

You create an Elite char.
the mobs are harder and more groups of elite/leg monsters.

I got another question. Is elite mode only for subscribers? Or can you unlock it without being a subscriber?

I read that elite mode can be played by everyone, you need to pay for hardcore mode only. (I'm not 100% sure how a real HGL player is, but that's just what i read so far )

Elite is free. You get acess to make an Elite Character after you beat the game atleast once.

Hardcore mode is for subscribers, and can be accessed anytime, without beating the game i beleive.

But like, as long as I have a char that has beaten the game once I will be able to make new characters for elite mode? Even if I have to Format my HD and re-install the game? The information that I beat the game stays saved on my account in FSS servers?

that's a pretty valid question as that i plan on installing HG:L on my laptop as well as my desktop pc, and I don't want to run into that problem (D2 vets will feel our sympathy here )

Yeah Im pretty sure you dont have to worry about that. The characters are saved to the account. I re-installed like 3 times today (downloading errors...), and my MP chars were still there, so it should save the data of whether or not you beat it.
