you can if you want. you get special updates later in the future such as new characters to choose from. new items, areas, larger stash, etc...

yet only sub only thing thats cool is stonehendge.

This game is awsome and the longer its up the better it gets. Its very much worth the money.

release was sketchy as was the Stonehenge patch which was delayed and then almost immediately needed a further patch to correct some further issues.

IMO As long as you're not rizzaping the crap out of it 10 hours a day then you should have plenty of fun with it. It needs some work, but you'll get your purchase price out of it no wories then decide if you enjoy playing it online enough to sub.

I have lifetime sub and I'm more than happy.
