Non-Restat, Cookie Cutter Build:
(lvl 60+)
STA: 40
DEX: xx
This build is great for people who don't want to have to afford a restat, and is perhaps one of the more popular builds for rangers. AoEing may prove challenging in the beginning because of the lack of blockage in the beginning, but staying on the low STA spectrum will allow these rangers to take advantage of pooling the rest of the stat points into DEX- at 75+, the collected DEX will create a significant block rate, and users of this build will be thankful for the extra DEX. When going to desert mobs later on, this STA will become useful once again.
RM-Friend/+STA & +HP Boosting Equip, Cookie Cutter Build*:
(lvl 60-93ish)
DEX: xx
This build is only recommended for people who will always have an RM with them while leveling, or for people who have insanely awakened +HP/+STA boosting equipment (Enough to add +40 STA, and more, which is what maxed Heap Up from the RM would provide). Even with an RM, +HP/+STA boosting equipment is almost a must. The advantage of this build is being able to have a full dex ranger at lvl 75 without using a restat- be prepared to always be on guard, watching your health, fooding, mp potting when necessary.. and even dying sometimes from the hard crits from around 60-75.
Restat, Cookie Cutter Build*:
(lvl 60-75)
STA: 50-60
DEX: xx
(lvl 75-93ish)
DEX: xx
This build will take into account the extra stamina needed for rangers from 60-75, before there are enough status points collected to pool into DEX for the block rate. At 75, it is then recommended to restat into a pure DEX, blocking, and evading machine. Why 75? This is not only when a lot of status points collected, but also when most people will switch to an Oska/Okas set, which is presumably highly upgraded (= HP/blocking bonuses)
* = Note that full dex builds are only recommended for people who can obtain a +6-+8 set (even +6 is iffy for those with full dex)
Desert, Cookie Cutter Build:
(lvl 105+)
STA: 35
DEX: xx
A lot of people were probably wondering why I was saying lvl ~93 for the pure dex builds. 35 STA is around the recommended amount of STA a ranger should have by the time they are 105+ and ready for the desert mobs. For that reason, a ranger should start pumping into STA around lvl 93.
lvl 15-60
List of Acrobat Skills
Junk Arrow (lvl 15)
Kill monsters by using Junk Arrow, and place it in your action slot (add 2 or 3, not 5). Uses MP- don't add INT to make up for the lack of MP. Wear a mental necklace instead.
Bow Mastery (lvl 20)
Some people say that every additional damage point counts- note that this only adds up to +20 damage mastered.
Perfect Block (lvl 45)
Increases your blockrate- this will be useful for people as a ranger as well :3 .. Max it ASAP. It's your best friend.
Arrow Rain (lvl 50)
This is optional. Some people argue that Arrow Rain's AoE allows them to level faster than spamming Junk Arrow. I personally do not recommend using Arrow Rain until level 60 because of the obnoxious cooldown rate, but some people like leveling with arrow rain despite this.
lvl 60+
List of Ranger Skills
Use your reskill and redistribute your status points to:
Master Your AoEs: (lvl 60)
- Arrow Rain (lvl 50 skill)
- Ice Arrow
- Flame Arrow
- Piercing Arrow (lvl 70 skill)
Perfect Block (lvl 45)
After mastering the above skills, you can then pool points into the skill which you feel will be most useful to you:
Fastwalker (lvl 18)
Increases your speed and allows you to gather mobs faster. Useful especially for mobs which are far apart.
Fast Shot (lvl 65; more 1v1/PvP skill, but some AoE rangers like this too)
Increases your attack speed, allowing you to shoot arrows for faster gathering. Some rangers hit 100% attack speed with a mastered haste, and with Fast Shot at a lower level; however, most rangers should have more than enough skill points to go around, and not everyone will always have an RM with them, so maxing it won't hurt.
I didn't come up with this information. I borrowed it from another source.
