What game would be the first for a 4yo on gameboy? Starting him on a d-pad and 2 buttons but need ideas for games.

Don't let him ruin his eyes with an old gameboy color. Buy him a gameboy advance sp or a gameboy micro.

Even though gameboy and gameboy color were my first nintendo handhelds (and i really loved them), i wouldn't recommend them today because of the display.

I highly recommend the original Super Mario Land. I can't think of a better game to build hand-eye coordination and reaction time

Also, the earlier recommendation for Tetris is very solid.
