need some advice from users of switch devices.

never had any experience with switch/nintendo consoles in general. currently considering getting one to play d2r as I travel a lot for work (interstate). cant play d2r on my work laptop and cant be bothered bringing 2 laptops on 2 day trips.

is the oled that much better than the normal switch?

can i play d2r on switch lite?

how is the experience on switch compared to pc/other consoles?

oled seems to give a better visual experience but is the older switch adequate? the switch is heaviliy discounted in my country right now, about 55% the price of oled version.

also i hear ppl saying next gen switch is coming so i'm a bit relunctant to buy the oled. maybe a cheap switch is better in the mean time or is the experience with oled worth the 45% extra money?

thnx

I just sold my Switch V1 to get an OLED Switch, also have a Switch Lite (which will be either sold/gifted). The OLED screen is incredible and worth it to me to upgrade, but I played D2R on the Lite for a few weeks and it was fine.

Only you can decide if it’s worth or not but if you’re already splurging on a Switch, spend the $50ish more for the OLED screen. If you’re getting the Switch Lite, still an amazing console. D2R even lets you adjust text size as needed.

If you’re trying to take advantage of other game offerings, that OLED is hard to beat as some games will be a little more cramped on the smaller Switch/Switch Lite.

Compared to my Xbox Series X, load times are a bit slower, graphics are worse, and games are capped at 4 players. For MF runs and just chilling playing the game solo, it can’t be beat with portability. I’ve had decent luck on Baal runs with full lobbies etc. too.

I wouldn’t worry about the next gen Switch, there’s no way that’s less than 2 years away + supply chain issues will likely further impact it.

I would also buy the Oled version. I'm playing it on the original one, it's all good but the Oled upgrade would be great!
