What the hell is this.

And here I thought after WiiU's massive flop they will focus on making proper games, that you play the best way (controller, not motion controls) and will make good console on the level of SNES, N64, GC.
But no, they took WiiU and made it even worse. Now it's WiiU with the processing power of 3DS. Oh, and what a great way to undermine 3DS sales.

Sigh. Fucking nintendo, stop making stupid gimmicks and make good games. We know you can, most of your games are awesome!

And just how many batteries is it going to require? Each hand grip, plus screen plus the controller snapon?

Its actually as powerful as a ps4/xbone.

Plays cartridges there was no sign of "motion controllers"

Its a home console and a portable, can take it on the go which is definitly something sony or microsoft yet has to try

Nintendo has always been known to take big risks, compared to other compagnies and if you were watching you can see that they made skyrim for the nintendo which i doubt the 3ds could handle.

As for the batteries, nothing has been said yet i'd expect a good 8-12hours.

The gamepad was good for 8 hours but more like 6 from what i've seen

I personally like how they designed it, wish they worked a bit more on the button layout and kept it the classic way d-pad on left with analog stick / right analog BOTH on top

And buttons on the bottom.

(Yes i know analogs sticks aren't classic)

n64 and gc sold pretty poorly
how is it a wiiu with the processing power of a 3ds, its shown running wiiu games so that's a bare minimum

honestly it what the wiiu should have been in the first place

also "how many batteries" that's irrelevant, the answer is one. the question is how long will it last

and last since the Switch a home/portable console hybrid it's probably gonne replace the 3ds completely not "undermine" it's sales

if you count it, it will be 4 batteries. Each side thingy, plus the middle (screen and pad). Sides will probably charge from middle, and middle from craddle but that sucks. Question is, how long it will work and if they drain at the same rate.

Both gc and n64 had amazing selection of games, and nintendo can produce really great quality. But for some reason they make great games and throw them onto really gimmicky hardware and with each generation they try something even more stupid than in previous. And they keep dividing the market they have.

I'd say it started at n64, where they developed controller for people with 3 hands (lets not talk about virtual boy, ye i know it was even earlier)

oh i have to admit i wasn't thinking about the controller thingies when i made my point about the batteries, but the wiiu pro controller's battery was like 80 hours long so i'm not worried about that since the screen would likely die out before the controllers

to me it all comes down to the games, i already know a bunch of people who'll be on board if the games are promising enough so if it can offer interesting possibilities then i'll hop onboard

I think this actually looks pretty good.

Lot's of freedom from what I see... play at home or play it away; play it on a traditional controller or on the newer nunchuk thingies...

I don't think I'll buy it because I haven't bought a home console in many years (the game catalogue would probably have to be mindblowingly good), but I got a good first impression and I think this will become a success if the price isn't too high and the battery life and other hardware issues don't result impractical (I expect that, considering it's functionality is centered around these gimmicks, they'll have made sure there aren't too many problems in this area).
