so i have decided im going to get a 3ds tomorrow, i just havent decided which system/model yet. i was kind of sold on getting a 2ds to save the money and that i plan to never use 3ds but then when i went to gamestop today to talk to them about a few games and such, they talked about how nice the new xl is and worth the money... blah blah blah. anyways, did some research and the most interesting thing is the c stick and the camera thing that makes 3d not give me a raging headache.

so just wondering, if you had the money to buy any of these which would you get?

also, i hope to get MH4U, SSB, and either:
majoras mask
kingdom hearts
other zelda
best "new" pokemon

any suggestions ?

The new 3DS XL is worth the money. It's only a matter of time when Nintendo and the few other developers move toward the new 3DS hardware. The "C-stick" sucked at first, but it isn't bad once you get used to it.

It will also help in playing some games with performance - Less frame drops, faster load times etc. It's what the first 3DS should have been, but i'd put the extra money toward it instead of saving a few bucks for the moment on the 2DS. The extra cost will easily make up for it in other ways.

I never use the 3D on it, but it's nice having the extra power and improved battery/life. Only downside is they don't include a charger, but it was fine with me because I have an older 3DS XL.

by the time the bolded happens, if it even does, the next iteration of nintendo's handheld will be right around the corner (if not already released)
highly doubt the new 3ds will have an expansive library...highly highly doubt it.
don't put all of your eggs into this basket lol

the new 3ds wasn't worth the money from my perspective, when i was loooking to buy one
i ended up buying a crystal red 2ds and spent the 130+ dollars i saved on a bunch of games

zero regrets

having said that, the new 3ds is cool if that's what you really want.

we'll have to see. currently only 2 games (1 released, 1 confirmed on the way) that require it, but some games do gain benefits from the added buttons and the nub (shortly after N3DS launch Azure Striker Gunvolt for example got stuff mapped to the new buttons to make switching easier)
also any CPP capable should work the nub of which I have not heard of a CPP having been made for a 2DS, and for a typical XL CPP you have to order from Nintendo afaik
and can't really argue against the faster loading times on a N3DS, as I've had a few games that ranged 30-60 second load times on my old 3DS, and are near instant on the N3DS

sure faster loading times are nice and dandy, but 3ds games have some pretty fast loading times (compared to ps3/360 games that i've seen at least, not sure about ps4/x1 loading times)

MH4U had something like a 50+ second load time on a regular and like 10-20 or less on a New, and my reg 3DS used to startup somewhat slow as well, and for a comparison between me and a friend he also noticed in MH that using the chat interface he had delays between being able to write messages or something like that whereas I had none
also to mention games designed like MH (as in works fine with varied framerate instead of a set 30/60) it will be able to more easily keep it running more smoothly
and tbh there really isn't much to lose with a New since buying a New over a regular or 2DS grants you advantages in higher potential DL speeds, faster browser, more available games, essentially a built-in CPP (which can be super useful), slightly longer battery life, more stable 3D (if you even care for it)

and these are my opinions here
better Home/Start/Select buttons than regular and better placement for Start/Select, home placement is good where they left it
better Volume slider placement
better power button placement
3D slider clicks into place for off (and I believe fully on as well? i don't turn it on enough) so harder to accidently turn it on (which used to happen to me soooo much with my reg 3DS)
