watched it and wasn't convinced, i agree alttp is better but not for the reasons he mentionned. Also, I watched his playthrough of wind waker and it was pretty terrible, he doesn't play 3d zeldas very well obviously, and I think it makes his experience less fun.

Right, but it's worth a watch.
I concur with a few points he made, like the waiting, but I will never be convinced to put down OOT and never pick it up again.
As for the camera stuff, I think I knew some camera tricks which helped prevent unforeseen damage. but that's just me/

the waiting has never been an issue imo, most of the time you can use other items like bombs, arrows, deku nuts. etc. to avoid waiting if you mind it so much. Plus it adds a lot of tension in combat, which isn't true for alttp.

As for not seeing every enemy or obstacle at once in a room, it really isn't much of an issue, you can always see the obstacles like the spikes before you have to get past them, which makes it your fault if you get hit (not a gameplay flaw)

all in all he complains about changes, most of which were necessary to make a good 3d zelda. Yes it changed the formula slightly but all in all most people were into it. He pretty much just showed he doesn't like 3d action games

not a bad video overall but i feel like it says more about the person who made it then the games it's about.

I mean, there really is no argument to be made.
If you tried to somehow compare Sonic 3d blast or Sonic 06 to OoT, then I would hold your sanity as a gamer in question.
The only ones that's gonna defend those are rabid sonic fanboys/girls.

he didn't really compare the two. He used that one Sonic game as an example of how tremendous of a task that going from 2d to 3d was.

Most of Sonic's games back then were glitchy as hell, as you can see in the short skits he posted (And watch some of Sonic 06's. For a "advanced system" game, it is easily a king of fail).
But most of the points he brought up were basically like Destry said, it was not gameplay flaws (like Sonic's, which very much was), but changed to fit the new style.
I mean, when I would enter a new area, I would observe where things were and watch the patterns, like any gamer with even half a brain would. Obv if there's a giant spike barrier spinning in a circle, I would wait for it to past then go.
Not be like "Herp-a-derp, I'mma just ignore it cause I can't see it and go" xD

He's a pretty funny dude, and the video was at least worth watching..

I feel like he doesn't value story or environment very much(though i'm sure thats just an extreme for the purpose of this video), which was more important to me in the games, each person will appreciate different aspects of a game though
