I was playing a link to the past ages ago as a kid.
I was up on the mountain because I was a kid dickin around...

I heard this chiming, it happened a few other times but I could never find out how to reproduce this event.
Maybe it was because I played for so many hours?

it was like a clock chime....

didn't collect anything
didn't open a path
didn't kill anything

I was just walking and it chimed.

this was on the snes... not an emulator...

anyone else have this happen?
this just popped into my head and I know it's gonna bug me so I leave it upon you guys... :P

this is a for serious post...

Unless you were living in Japan and playing Ancient Stone Tablets, I don't know what it could be... maybe after hours of playng you couldn't tell the difference between the boulders falling down Death Mountain and the chiming of a clock :P

I think the best way to find out would be replaying the game, you can't go wrong with that B)

was it a single bell sound, as in a single "chime" or did it ring more than once? and was it one of the games normal sound effects (warped or otherwise, and can you name what makes the sound?) just seeming out of place?
I have heard out of place noises at the top of death mountain, and I thought it was the sound of an arrow or an enemies fireball hitting a wall. I attributed it to an enemy I couldn't find.
Anyway, lmk about exactly WHAT it sounded like. Link to the Past is STILL one of my all time favorite games, so I may be able to help.
By the way, I am breaking out my super and replaying this game (yet again) just to wander around Death Mountain. Well, at least I have something to do for the next few hours. LTTP only take 6-8 hours start to finish, give or take meals and bathroom breaks.

been ages.. I was like 9 when I was playing it and it happened....
I think it was multiple chimes.... Not attributed to anything... The rocks were falling so I wasn't at the top and the game didn't lag so it wasn't a warped sound byte.
