Hey,

My wife's dumb kitten bit through the Wii sensor bar wire so I had to pick up a new one from Amazon...so one arrived several days ago and I didn't test it out until last night when some friends came over, and ta dah, the sensor bar wasn't picking anything up, couldn't find any pointers on the screen at all. So I thought it was merely just broken and I was just about to do all the returning shit. However, this morning I decided to try it again, and again nothing was getting picked up. I then kept my Wii remote and walked to the kitchen and then came back to the living room and all of a sudden my pointer was on the screen. I thought it randomly got fixed, so I went back standing straight ahead from the TV and it suddenly disappeared. Long story short, I realized that the sensor bar would only pick up the pointers if I was holding my remote so that it was pointing 45 degrees to the right. Even then, however, the pointer was being very erratic on the screen and shaking regardless of how still I was holding it. I tried to go into the Wii sensor bar sensitivity option, but that didn't do anything.

Any idea on this issue? Is it just plainly defective or could there be some kind of interference going on? I tried placing the bar everywhere but that didn't fix anything. Just to make sure my Wii isn't the problem, I am going to get one from Gamestop to test it out and return it.

I've never seen this happen, definetely sounds like it's defective... try out that remote from Gamestop to be completely sure first; if the new one works then return the one you got from Amazon.
