So I'm playing Pokemon white again, but this time I want to connect to the internet with my wireless router.
Im using my mom's original Nintendo DS system, which is only compatible with WEP security.
My router has WPA and I'm unable to change it do WEP.
Would I be able to connect if there were no security on my connection?
Or is there a way to make WPA work with the original DS system?

why wouldnt you change it to wep?

Can't.
In the network's security setting when I change WEP key from Disable to Enable (after other options are disabled) it attempts to apply the change, but upon reloading the screen it is back at disabled so I can't set it up.

well then you're screwed, you cant connect a ds with wpa

you got an laptop with wifi ? load connectify 3.3 .. connect it to internet and change to wep and set passwort .. tada
ore else a pc with wifi card works too ore buy a usb wifi stick but there is no garanty that it works

I do have a laptop that I could bridge the connection over from, or make it a hotspot.
I'll try this connectify then, thanks for the idea!

dont forget to klick on "allow all ppl to use this internet connection" wehn you setup your main dsl

Turns out the connectify idea won't work

Any other ideas?

EDIT: Turns out I couldn't enable WEP encyption because 802.11 N mode was enabled. My laptop, phone, and apparantly DS are all now connected. Hopefully XBOX Live has no issues with the new security mode.
