well its not that i dont like it, i used to love gba and Sp and all but i have been on 360 for so long wiht all my irl friends and i do not know what games i would play online for 3ds, i have always got bored of mario kart fairly quickly and with who seeing as none of my irl friends have one.
having friends who have the system definitely helps a lot imo, i have more and more friends who are getting 3ds' and its pretty awesome, for me the 3ds was the obvious choice since i LOVE nintendo games and dont care much for third party titles (not that i dont like or buy them but they're not what made me buy the system) but if you dont like 1st party games that much you might want to look into buying a vita, but there are and will be exclusive 3ds titles aswell, like capcom's resident evil and monster upcoming monster hunter 4 (which will probably make its way to vita eventually aswell but its been announced as an exclusivity)

Is the 3ds worth it ? i have been looking into it and it seems like a good buy and would be fun to play but i am worried it wont hold my attention for very long with the games out.
i am/always hve been a 360 playe. and love it. i got a Wii not long ago and i do not play it very often i got mario galaxy 2 which was fun but didnt like using the wii mote and then i play brawl a lot with friends and such.
anyways 3ds looks pretty fun, zelda, STARFOX, and the new games coming look fun but i am worried i will buy it, then not play it much because of D3 coming out in 2 months, and then my 360 shooters (battlefield 3) and then later this year borderlands 2 and AC 3 .
do you guys play your ds a lot if you have another system you play more? whether its wii pc 360 or ps3.
just tryna figure out if it is worth all the money and if it is something most people keep coming back to.
i would get it and starfox first then probably a pokemon game just cuz its fuckin pokemon man. then prolly zelda and maybe that kid icarus game
at 170$ for a new one i'd say yes, it comes with a 2g sd card and is pretty muich ready to use, on the system are the basic apps like
camera (video and photos, there's cool stuff like face merging and a little tool to make stop motion videos
sound recording(very limited but its pretty cool to use with swapnote)
swapnote to send notes and drawings to your friends (you can include short 5 second recordings and pictures too)
face raider and ar games which are pretty cool and make use of the camera and gyroscope of the 3ds
nintendo video (its a selection of 4 videos that nintendo sends, there's a new vid pretty much every week altough i recieved like 4 in 2 days recenty)
netflix with 1 free month trial (and Hulu+ is coming soon aswell)
mii plaza (when 2 people with 3ds cross each other the systems exchange information, that's called street pass, both people will recieve information about the other one like their nickname + puzzle pieces and you can use his mii for your mii quest)
then you got stuff like the mii maker and the options and whatnot, im sure i forgot a lot of stuff but that's a quick summary of the system itself
as for the games you'll definitely want to look into resident evil: revelations, mario 3d land, metal gear (altough you ahve a 360 so the hd collection has better value to it) and perhaps nano assault if you like starfox-like games
