This is probably one of the best games of this generation.

I know that seems like an insane statement for a handheld game, but for a lot of reasons it's definitely in the top tier, maybe my GOTY.

Graphically the 3DS horsepower is shown, it looks arguably better than Wii games with 3D mode enabled, and with it off makes you wonder how much a NON-3D "3DS" title could do.

It pays homage to the classic Super Mario series like nobodys business, including the fantastic whimsical soundtrack, and so far the gameplay feels tight and rewarding.

Waiting until Christmas to get it (was told it'd be a present way long ago) was definitely painful but made it totally worth it.

If you own a 3DS and don't own this title yet, get it.

I intend on buying it today, but we'll see.

I just dropped 299 on a new 43" plasma so I can game in my room, but I am surprised that Mario Land 3DS met and exceeded my expectations for a handheld title

i thought super mario land 3ds started a bit too slow, it just seems that world 1 through 6 is just a big tutorial

I thought mario 3d land was THE must-own title on the 3ds until i played mario kart 7

i already got 42 hours of single/online + at least 15 hours in downloadplay

that and the tanooki suit makes everything a LOT easier imo

other than that i really like the 2d mario approach they took with the game but i wish there were more levels like the extra level

IN some regards it feels a LOT like Super Mario Bros. 3 for anyone who has played it

yeah the stage being so short was kind of a let down too, also im not a big fan of the art design used in the levels, they just all look the same
