You mail letters to inhabitants in your town and give them a present.. in return you can get fruit (which will sell for like 500each)

Also check the beaches since a coconut might wash up, make sure u read where to place it since it cant grow anywhere.

You should google the exact help on how to get foreign fruit, i always type "fruit fruit fruit" in the message and attach the basic fruit... in return i usually get others.
