Never posted before here, so i dont know if this is on the right forum.

So... I've played Zelda on the gameboy (the oldschool one), no idea what the exact name was.
I've played Zelda, the ocarina of time after that, freakin loved this one (coz of the time travelling etc...)

I've played Diablo I, Diablo II and WoW in between, and especially after the Zelda games.
I've stopped playing all those game, due to lack of time (work, women and some more studies).
But i should be able to finish my studies in the summer of 2012, so i'll have time to play games again, thank god :D

Now, my question is: what kind of Zelda game/Console should i look for? I dont care about the newest console/games. I just want a good, enjoyable game, which takes some skill and effort (this can be other games on that same console to, RPG being my top favs.)
So, what should i look out for, or what's already in the market? Its this or going for D3 after my studies.
Thanks for the info!

A link to the past

best zelda game in my opinion

it's on the SNES, and possibly the Wii Virtual Console as well, I'm not sure.

/e and the oldschool zelda you played was probably link's awakening

if u want all the zeldas (for the most part anyways)
buy a wii, u can get 1 and 2 for reg NES.
ocarina of time and majoras mask for N-64.
windwaker for gamecube.
twilight princess for wii.

the game u were prolly thinking of is four swords, its mainly links awakening from the snes... but it has some additional stuff on it (GBA)

if u buy a wii and want to play the ones from gamecube and below u will need a GC controller and memory card.
after that u can buy most of the zeldas in disc form.

i have most of the systems, so i already have the originals.

I did enjoy Minish Cap. Cept it had NO replay value, imo.
Wind Waker, I thoroughly enjoyed, too, aside from getting from place to place. Which wasn't so bad, I could get up/stretch/get a drank.
Ocarina of time was awesome, of course.
Never played Majoras Mask.
Still trying to get through Twilight Princess atm. That game seems like it takes forever. It's fun, but nothing special.

To me, OOT aside, no Zelda game really jumps out as being the best...
Just get a hacked PSP, and have access to NES / SNES / GB / GBA Zelda games - on the go.

Wow your gaming history is so close to exactly like mine ...

Honestly, none of the more recnt console games have quite granted the "epic story feeling" that the N64 Zeldas gave. It seems like console game makers are really moving into different directions these days. A lot of things seem to be either FPS games or marketed towards younger audiences. If you've experienced the games with the depth of character creation that WoW and Diablo had, then D3 would probably be the more appropriate game for you. Everything else would feel like a step back.

four sword was some kind of minigamish zelda, and ofc zelda3 was one of the best zelda game evar, but yeah, four sword was one of the worse zelda game ever, and sadly the only multiplayer one lol
