I've been thinking about picking up a handheld to give me something to do on my 4 hour break between classes 3 days a week. The only thing is I can't decide whether to go ahead and pay 150$ for the DSi or wait a little over 2 months and pay 250$ for the 3DS. Do you really think the 3DS will be worth the money because I read the battery life kinda blows and 250$ seems like a lot for a handheld in my opinion. Keep in mind though that the last handheld I ever owned was a Gameboy Advanced and I haven't even played on one since. Any help is appreciated.

The games I'm thinking about picking up are:
-Super Mario Bros
-Mario Kart
-Super Mario 64
-Pokemon Soulsilver

The only game so far for the 3DS that has really caught my eye is Zelda and the fact that it can play all DS games.

im in the same situation as you lol, except the last time i had a handheld, it was a gameboy color.

problem is, the only "good game" on release day of the 3ds is super street fighter 4: 3D

zelda, kid icarus, resident evil, star fox etc are going to be coming out like 3+ months after the 3ds releases... however, the 3ds has backwards compatablity and can play ds games so no use of getting a dsi imo.

up to you if you add $100 bucks more and go with a 3ds.

In my opinion:

Buy DSI XL , get an R4 with games. youll probably end up spending $200.

When the 3ds comes out , sell it on craigs lit and say it comes with 100 hundred games on a memory card, sell it for like $150. youll get your money easy.

+playing gba games on DS isn't possible on later versions, so that's a big problem for me

Id go with 3DS but if youre planning to get a dsi, you might want to wait for a sale or after 3DS is released as the price
might drop.
