I got a Nintendo DSi XL for free from my cousin cause he got it from his friend and it's messed up..

It turns on and everything, but when I get to the menu screen, it sometimes runs pretty laggy, then whenever I select an option I get an error saying to hold the power button to turn it off and refer to the manual (but I don't have the manual).

So I can't goto the settings to do a reset..

So I was wondering if theres another way to factor reset my DSi.. I tried removing the battery.
Or any method to fix it

Any method, even if it takes opening it up myself.

Sounds more like a hardware problem than anything else. Nintendo equipment is practically indestructible, so whatever happened to it must have been pretty bad.
