I don't think you guys understand the Wii. It's not meant to suffice a powergamer's idea of a console, it's moreso approaching a casual point of view. Get a 360/PS3 if you want to be a hardcore gamer. Even then, the PS3/360 can be enjoyable in small doses, but the Wii was more designed for this and more for casual gamers. What is your guys' idea of shovelware might be a casualist's idea of a good game. Obviously some 9 year old kid isn't going to care about wether the game has 258bit color perfect graphics or shit like that. Nintendo is great at what they do, and they make a hell of a lot of money doing it.


Just thought I'd make it's own topic so that it would get more views, and I wouldn't have to type out a rant essay everytime.

all of the consoles are for casuals. sorry i dont consider a game like MW2 for "hardcore gamers" whenever it sells like 15 billion copies, the majority of people who bought that game are casuals.


gaming is mainstream now, people gotta deal with that.

Sorry, I don't consider MW2 the only game for 360/PS3. Games such as large RPGs, for example Final Fantasy, will give you a run of maybe 50+ hours on average PER GAME. That takes a bit more dedication than casual play.

As far as I'm concerned, gaming has been mainstream for a LONG time now.

yes, but gaming in the past few years has grown tremedously. The wii especially has brought non-gamers into the gaming world.

I work at Toys r us and when im bored i sometimes stand behind the cashiers in the video game section to chill and i cannot explain to you how many adult couples (without children) buy a wii, it's crazy.

the wii has been a great system for someone who never plays video games, to pick up a controller and have a night of laughter.

The wii has done it's job.....brought in more people to play video games. Sure the wii doesn't have the best game selection, or insane graphics.....but it has fun games, and that is what playing video games is all about; having fun.

Yes it's nice to have super graphics when playing a game, btu graphics dont make the game...

yeah i know what you mean man, i work at gamestop. i see couples coming in for them all the time haha.

it amazes me that some games that the wii has actually sell. like redneck jamboree.. the fuck is that? XD
