Every game I try to play on SSBB WFC is so laggy its pretty much unplayable. Why is this?

Note: I race online on Mario Kart Wii all the time with no problem.

im pretty sure the lag depends on the location on the people you play with so if you live and canada and you play somone in africa then you will probably have a bad connection.
