Uh the 64 used the same AV cords as did the Super Nintendo. Plugs in with like a t connection in the back of each system. Makes it nice for quickly switching between systems actually.
In fact you can plug in the original NES with AV cords. One audio and one video.
Per the RF problem you probably need to have it on a specific channel for it to work. Try the lower channels first. Make sure you're changing the channel on the tv and not your cable box either.
