there has been a ton of improvements like fps of 60-120 range, hd upscaling, texture packs, memory modification while the game is running, list of plugable cheats (unlimited arrows, unlimited bombachus). now factor in you can use almost any controller - i use a switch pro controller to play gc games, n64 games, 3ds games and ofc switch games. the biggest improvment is you can add gyro aim into the ocarnia of time or majoras mask.

i cannot post direct links to github on jsp but search on google: Zelda64Recomp there has been youtube videos that talk about how this process speeds up the frame rate and stability of the older games and you can add new features.

you will also need the majas mask rom
archive (dot) org has tons of roms just find a usa version or you can download the gamecube version and play on the dolphin emulator

if you have a steamdeck you can also add all of these emulators to it and download the roms and texture packs and it will have gyroaim or you can play it from any desktop computer
