I agree , I mainly use a mix of longsword and greatsword so by the time I hit the Double trouble urgent quest I found my best low rank set was nothing short of a liability. I would agree that it depends on your play style. I tend to be a very aggressive hunter so I take plenty of hits which makes high defense a must for me personally.  That is the fun thing about this game though tailoring your skills and armor to meet your play style is my favorite part of the series.

Well, to be fair, if you've read my posts this entire time, I was only arguing for the sake of using your LR set during your Lv**** quests, and switching when you get to the Lv***** quests.

The only decent HR set available during the Lv**** quests is Barroth+, which you'd need under 40% effective life for it to kick in.

Let's take great sword for example, assuming you have either no decent talisman or one that just you a +10 C skill that you like so I won't even count it, I'd MUCH rather use this set(
http://divinewh.im/s/1.B_e.B_h_e_1O.B_1M.B_0 -which is just like I described above) then go pure HR for a 60 total defense boost... remember, Crit Draw is essentially a 40% damage boost to your level 3 charges. :p

Just to clarify what I meant earlier, the lowest HR armor is *technically* better, because you should have the armor spheres by that point to upgrade it the first 4-5 times (it uses the same spheres as upper LR armor), putting it @ around 36-40 defense per piece. In addition, even the lower HR hunts tend to give some of the next level of armor spheres, so you should be able to get each piece up to around 44-46 defense per piece within the first 3-4 ranks of HR hunts. (That is where I got the 50+ defense gap from, its fairly easy to upgrade HR armors once you get them).

That's very true, I don't know why I wasn't taking that into account. :Z Not to mention (as previously stated), I realized I was biased towards this, having only REALLY used two weapons, Lance and MBG (I've dabbled in the LBG, but I didn't feel like it was worth the loses, unless you'd want to be pure status / elemental, which I don't :p ; though I've never tried the HBG). And the Lance really doesn't need anything past Guard +2 for a decent counter Lancer, and like you mentioned, BG'ers only rarely take a hit, and it's also very easy to get away and put your weapon away with them so you can heal quickly.

So I guess you're right then. :p Def at that point does make a fairly big difference, and you have access to Barroth+ (which is a nice armor if you can live at 40% health).

Although, I still stand by the fact that I, personally, would rather use LR gear on my Lancer, BG'er, and would rather use the mix of LR / HR as shown above(
http://divinewh.im/s/1.Be.Bhe1O.B1M.B0 ) for my GS'er during the Lv**** quests. :p But I'll hand it to you for SnS (who has access to Bnahabra+ anyways; and once they reach the Lv***** quests should also get a LR Lagia set with a rarity upgrade for the HR def), as well as Hammers, SA'ers, HBG'ers, and DEFINITELY LS'ers (which I mentioned previously)

^_^

Yeah, I see no problem holding onto sets with lancers and bowgunners, but I hate seeing LSers going up against HR lagi with LR rathalos and wondering why they are getting smacked into the ground :P

/e Also, HR jaggi set is awesome for GS, thats the set I upgraded into the HR armors with. The damage boost almost offsets the lack of critical draw, but is just a side note with the defense bonus :bouncy:

Too bad Vangis gloves are the only piece you can get at Lv**** quests. (which is what he was talking about) :p

Does anyone know how I can transfer my character save data from one Wii to another? I know you can do it with HBC, which I'm willing to get it and learn how to use it if there's a fairly simple way of transferring.

Thank you!
