what happens by default if both have street pass on is they will see each others miis and infos like when they've encountered and their last game played
then you can use their miis to fight in a rpg-style game to gain hat and free your own mii who's been abducted by monsters
and you can choose 1 piece of puzzle that they have and you need to complete your puzzles (to start a new puzzle you have to come across some1 who has it, people have different puzzles and your goal is to get em all)
you can also pay 2 play coins (the coins you make by walking with the system) to get a free hero for the rpg quest or buy a random puzzle piece (can be one you already have)
iso new content, i have every hat/puzzle
then if you have game that use the street pass feature you can exchange data from that game with people who have the game (in street fighter, you have figurines and they fight the other player's when you street pass with them, in Heroes of ruin the items other people will have put in their market place will be for sale in yours, etc)
pretty cool feature if you live in a somewhat crowded city
