While it isn't as bad as I make it out to be for some people I have to say it disappointed me to no end compared to Melee and even SSB64 which had incredibly originality.

I mean even to this day I will bust out SSB64 and play it.

i'm not gonna lie, brawl disappointed the hell out of me too when it first came out. i didn't even touch it until about 8 months after it released and it started growing on me. i still prefer melee over it though.

Melee was definetly the best thus far, but 64 had that originality/fresh appeal.

IF you are wondering why Zelda never made my top list, it's sort of a given that its up their for most people and it was not required that I mention it.

I differ with you on this subject, a perfect game is not one that receives a perfect score from a review site / company, a perfect game is one that in your mind had virtually no flaws, or only had flaws that were so limited or so... uncumbersome that you felt it was a perfect game.

I personally felt the Perfect Game title has only been achieved by three titles:

Metal Gear Solid 4
Ogre Battle 64
Harvest Moon 64

While it isn't as bad as I make it out to be for some people I have to say it disappointed me to no end compared to Melee and even SSB64 which had incredibly originality.

Zelda OoT? That game was amazing.
And I'd sooner bust out SSB64 over Melee.
I hate melee now.

I explained my OoT reasoning in my post above ^_^

While it may come off that I hate every Wii game, I definetly don't, but as a hardcore gamer whos had his hand in the Nes, Gameboy, Gameboy Advanced, Snes, N64 I felt disappointed by the Gamecube and increasingly disappointed by the Wii. I felt their target audience was stiffing the hardcore gamer (Wii) and while they offered hardcore gamer titles they definetly didn't push them like they did the games that are more for average users.

Well, I don't see why people have such big problems with new games :\ I find most of them really fun.
And how do you find Melee was the best? :\ I found it was the worst.

For some reason it felt like it worked, it had the right amount of unlockables and the combat was fast paced/controls were tight.

Most of the new games are shitty shovelware and Nintendo is fine with that, I took the metacritic ratings of the consoles and it was something like 200 out of 480 Wii games score less than a 60. Now normally you could be all, "unjust rating" but its friggen METACRITIC. Its not like I went to a bias source and checked.

And no, I don't just base my game scores off of reviews, but in reality that number is about right with the amount of shovelware released to the Wii monthly.

That is where my gripe with Nintendo comes from, they allow it because average users will pick up shovelware and probably enjoy it because they'll play it once a week.

But with some of the older titles that have been updated (SSBB, MKW, AC, Mario Party, Metroid, Zelda), they're mass sellers and people play them alot O.o
And the wii is more of a "family" system...

That "family" system is what pisses me off, they more or less ignored the hardcore gamers and focused on bringing in a different demographic that ended up causing utterly useless games.

I am still waiting for a 100% Wii edition of Zelda, that is ground up designed for the Wii.

Mario Party 8 felt bad compared to older ones, they need to freshen it up and integrate WiiM+ into MP9 IF they make it.

Oh yes, the whack off game, what a few drinks can do in that game is priceless. I am not saying all the games were brutal but they definetly need to redo the franchise, as opposed to game like Paper Mario where, while it was fun it definetly felt like a cop out, they tried something different but I think that the older style was WAY more enjoyable.

Like I said, I have a problem with the fact that they went for something that stiffed their hardcore gaming audience, I think there is a decent balance that could have been obtained but they went for the gusto in hauling in elderly/younger people.

Oh well, whats done is done.
