It'll need it cause the n64 multiplayer was lacking even if you unlocked the pilot/tank choice.
I mean there's more chars in Starfox then Fox/Falco/Peppy and Slippy.
And if the "See your friend" ingame picture is all they added (would be stupid since you're in the same room/area), then it'll still be like it was back then.

well i thought about it and i think the see your friend will be pretty nice even if you are in the same room

i never look up to see what my friends look like when i beat them and vice versa
but if i have it in front of me i might aswell enjoy the laugh

but yeah im dissapointed that the game wont have online, but the 64 version was worth buying back then and like i said its still well worth playing

also the real fun has always been the single player mode in sf64 and its the main reason why im getting the game

Went thru the warp zone in the main story? That was always fun.

starfox64 is the kind of game i enjoyed playing as a kid but never played it through
