the first cd was great, the second was meh and the 3rd and 4th were terrible
the 2nd one is my favourite one tbh, when you go to the 2nd continent and explore a whole new world, it's a great adventure imo; it's also one of the FFs that offers the most freedom
what I liked the most about the game though was the gameplay, it brought back the job system from the first 5 games... and the soundtrack ofc, usually considered to be the best in the series, I agree although VIII isn't far behind and VI has imo the best song (Terra's theme)
I disagree on the overall story being bad, it's not in the top 3 of FF games, but I did like it... on the other hand it does offer a greater deal of character depth than other games in the series, everyone has his own story or sidequest
idk, I don't have a favourite FF game, but this is one of my favourite ones... it's the one I've replayed the most for some reason
the minigames do suck though, that I agree with
