well the leveling system is really just an illusion of doing anything imo, you and the monsters get stronger as you play so as long as the curve remains good not having a level up system can still work if you get stronger by having stronger stickers
you dont need to grind to level up, you do battles for coins if you need them but not having to battle is pretty nice imo
so far i havent met a real boss so i cant tell if they're too easy but i'll see once i get to the end of the first place i guess
as for the story there wasnt much more story in paper mario 64 as far as i know, boswer messes stuff up and you need to fix it, it just took longer to get to in paper mario 64 imo
for the companions i agree it's a bit sad but it defninitely doesnt make it a bad game
guess we dont play rpgs for the same reason huh
also the sticker sucks massive balls, having to grind for rare stickers is faaaar more annoying than grinding for levels (and you never had to grind in previous paper mario btw, dunno why you would bring this up)
the fact that you can just skip all the battles makes me wonder why they're even there at all, especially when there are better ways to make coins
also bosses can be hard, but if you use the right sticker, he becomes easy mode (some bosses even requires you to use the right sticker, else hes impossible to beat, which is a dumb-as-fuck mechanic)
as far as the story goes, you never ever see bowser all game, or the main villain (like you did in all 3 paper mario before this one)
fucking kersti is so boring its ridiculous, but shes the only one who travels with you for the entire game
also the story in the 2nd paper mario was ok, same for super paper mario, so why go that way for the 4th one?
boy oh boy oh boy, this game man, this fucking game
