pretty much the last 5 races for me last night in a nutshell

what i do
alot

i run into fellow racers with the blue explosion
works decent

best thing is to hoard a mushroom and right when blue shell is about to down thrust
SLAM THAT SHROOM DOWN YO THROAT
but yea its hard to get them @ first

cant do that in mk7

best thing to do is when you see someone got a blue shell in bottom screen, just let someone take first place, or if you didnt see it and you're hearing it coming, just try to take as much ppl with you as you can (like you said)

but yeah, mushrooms dont work

they 100% work
ive done it yo

but once a blue shell sees u in first
u can drop to 2nd and it still homes in on u

thats dumb, they said it was removed in mk7, timing is a lot harder now tho

/e: things is tho, you rarely get mushroom in first place, so heh, it doesnt apply that often anyway

snaking is pretty much dead now, def not worth it anymore, it doesnt really give you that big of an advantage and is a lot riskier

verdict: not worth it, at all

how do you dodge red shells from 2nd place now? not worth it imo, since if you get hit by a red shell, you'll either have to use a mushroom to get back in 1st or just try to get back there w/o any item

gl with that in online play, where you go from 1st to 8th with one well placed banana

/e: also item you get in first are defensive items obviously, and its how you use them that separate the one that stays in 1st the one that finish 4th or 5th
