Melee is a much more technical game, I would say it takes way more skill than in brawl.

If you want to really test that, throw a brawl "pro" against someone who just started playing the game. Compare the results to a melee pro vs someone who just picked up melee, and observe the distance. Melee pros shouldn't take more than a few hits.
