why iare games that first came out on the 3ds still $40
stfiv, re mercenaries, etc

i want some older games but not worth $40..

wii games can be $60, hell i still see some places trying to sell twighlight princess for $60

ok, games like nsmb2 are slightly overpriced because 2d mario games are indeed very similar, I think they shouldn't be worth more than 30-40, and I think it's going to be around 45€ from what I read, which is a bit overpriced, but not a dealbreaker imo.

But it's not like Nintendo floods their market with 2d mario games, they only release like one per system, which I honestly think is a good thing. The company rose to popularity with those type of games, and it's nice they pay tribute to them in every system they make. I mean, sure, they look are all the same concept, but they are generally still fun (at least for me) aslong as they don''t make them supereasy.

Although, imo they should have released now that LttP styled Zelda they said they were planning to develop instead of this, it hasn't been a year yet since sm3dl was released and a Zelda game would be more appreciated than a Mario game right now.

anyway its not like they were only doing 2d marios, the way i see it they make a 2d mario for each of their consoles and make other games to experiment with, for the wii it was galaxy and for the 3ds it was mario 3d land

yeah that's what I'm saying, some people (not saying here, but all over the internet) complain "omg, another 2d mario game" and are acting like Nintendo releases a 2d Mario every year. They are doing one per console and imo that's not only fair, but also great.

nintendo doesnt have hundreds of dev team
so when a team is working on an other 2d mario, they arent working on an other game

and seriously, why make them all the same?

It's just once per console though, it's not even nearly comparable to CoD. I always liked the traditional Mario games, and if they are the same I will still like them, that's why I'm not mad about them sticking to what they've always done.

And, yes, a change of some sort would be refreshing, but it's not easy to change their traditional style. I'd like something innovative aswell or a Yoshi's Island styled game like destry said, but if we think back to 1995, when it was released, even though it was critically acclaimed in general, many people complained about the game being different to the rest of the mario games (it was afterall called Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island), and it was only years later it became a cult game. Same thing happened with Majora's Mask, people were expecting a new OoT and many were dissapointed, years later it became a cult game everyone likes. So changes like these are risky, and even though they are at some point necessary, I guess it's not that easy for Nintendo to make these decisions.
