this was the first thing i was doing .. dont know i must explain it here -.-
normal for me by such a game and you can change the buttons ore other controls aswell

i wouldve been pretty pissed if you werent able to change the sensibility *coughcough*metroidprimehunter*coughcough*
anyway im very pleased with this game and i dont think the controls could be better than they are now

you can also try out

go to the options - control configurations -> step1 choise the right side and than choice +controle pad now you move kid with the buttons
and change the button positions

btw use the idols instead off keeping them cause it seems like you can only safe 5 off them
and dont let them drop xD ore threw them to much left ore right side
