Hey man, if i was you i'd not buy a n64 if you want to use it on a hdtv. It doesnt look bad its just that n64 emulator looks much better on hdtv, much brighter.
I tried hooking my n64 up to one of those old fashion tvs an it looks good but that screen was only around 28 inch or something. I'd rather play on my big tv.
I sold my n64 and all my games for it last month, now i just play them with the emulator as they work the same an look better.
If you have a xbox 360 you can use that controller for it and get an hdmi cable to hook your pc to your large tv screen where you can then play all your n64 games on your big tv.
Oh and another thing, if you buy a n64 make sure the controller stick is tight. Becuz they do get worn out an become floppy an makes the control awful.
and, if your controller is fucked with all floppin loose stick dont buy one of those knock off controllers from china on eeebay they work like shit. i bought some before an the stick is terrible.
Get an official n64 controller not a knockoff controller. but emulator is better an its free.
I had a large nonhd T.v. (made in the 1980's) and it displayed as good (sometimes better) as the new tvs with all my games.
It died last year sadly.
Only paid 50$ for it. Had it for bout 8 years. 50 something inch, lol.
