Dominion rod, the theory is this skyward sword link is the sage Raura.
And if you notice the statues you pushed, they were all owl statues, right?
Because the gods of the clouds entrusted it and it was passed down to each hero, i.e. this one being the first Link to the next and so on.
And since this skyward sword link is the first connection to zelda is why all the other links have a connection to the royal family and why the oot link had the clothes when he grew up already prepared.
IMHO, its all a screwed up mess if you try to connect them all together.
