Ya, I don't get the storyline of the zeldas (i.e. where leg of zelda 1,2, link to the past etc, all fit into the story. I mean as far as I see, they don't).
And if this is the story of how the master sword was made, why would Link go back to that time era?
And you'll have a Ganondorf part or his influerence in it.
Don't think they'll gonna completely cut out one of the three recurring chars...
He'll prob be the one go back in time to steal the master sword, etc.

he wont be in the game at all from what i read

well it never is the same link, thats a fact

there is no official time line either, but i mean, its pretty obvious that skyward sword is the first zelda game since its the creation of the master sword, and all the zelda game (or almost all) have the master sword in it

oh and windwaker did had a lot of lore to the game, and is obviously the last zelda as of now (not counting the ds ones ofc) since hyrule as been flooded or something like that

and yeah oot and mm had the same link, since majoras mask continue right after oot ends

im not saying im a zelda lore pro, but there is a time line in the zelda game, just not an official one

Looks like a total messline imo.
If windwaker is the last of hyrule (timeline wise) why is Link a kid?
The better question is why would ya want to know why/when it(master sword) was created.
The important thing is that it kills the bad guys and helps you save hyrule in future/past/present times???
And from the trailers, it's adult Link so I'm guessing he went back in time right?
Then his kid self went forward in windwaker?

it is a mess because of the earlier game, nintendo stated that there is a time line, but because of the early game, its hard to know what is considered canonical and what is not

i found this too

The Legend of Zelda --> The Adventure of Link

Ocarina of Time --> A Link to the Past --> Link's Awakening

Ocarina of Time (Child Timeline) --> Majora's Mask --> Twilight Princess

Ocarina of Time (Adult Timeline) --> The Wind Waker --> Phantom Hourglass --> Spirit Tracks

Oracle of Ages <--> Oracle of Seasons

The Minish Cap --> Four Swords --> Four Swords Adventures

as you can see, there isnt one big time line, but multiple ones

not clones, its like having multiple batmans or spidermans or w/e

/e: also this

However, before the release of The Wind Waker in 2003, Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed in an interview with Nintendo Power that there are multiple Links throughout the series

i presume you play games almost completely for their gameplay and not the story?
