The items are unfair?? DS has almost the exact same fucking items, and snaking makes it more fair for everybody seeing how online is way more popular.. Snaking would be pretty hard to beat online against say a Funky Kong in a Flamerunner.

um, have you played Mario kart wii??? any time you're in first place you are non-stop bombarded with blue and red shells. its not like that at all in mario kart ds. The more skilled racer actually wins the match in MKDS.

Blue Shells, I'll give that, they are pretty common but what ever.
Red shells, it's called holding an item behind you.

Anyways, I understand where some of the criticism of MK Wii is coming from, sometimes you'll be in first place and get pwned by a blue shell and lose the race due to that. But I can accurately say that this does not play a huge role in online races. In the long run, if you are skilled, you will win more races and do a lot better than those less skilled. You may win 9 out of 10 races you should have won (losing one race you should have won because of being unlucky and getting hit by a blue shell at just the wrong moment).
