I don't think the problem is with their first-party games to be honest. Yes, they create more shovelware now than they ever have done in the past, but they still have their main games. This gen, they have released one main Mario game (which is arguably the best 3D Mario game, or better than Sunshine at the very least), one main Zelda game, one main Metroid game, one Smash Bros. game, and one Mario Kart game, and have a Mario game, a Metroid game, and a Zelda game in the pipeline. Last gen, they only released one Mario game and one Zelda game, but this gen it looks like 2 of each will be released at least.
The problem is more with the third-party games to be honest. The Wii isn't as powerful as the PS3 and the 360, so it misses out on a lot of third-party games that those two consoles get. Last gen, the GameCube had games like Tales of Symphonia, Skies of Arcadia, Timesplitters 2, Soul Calibur II, Resident Evil 4, REmake, Rogue Leader, Ikaruga, The Twin Snakes, and so on, a good few of which were multiplatform.
There are definitely not as many good third-party games this gen, but there are still a fair number of good first-party games.
Of course its not first party, but they are also creating some fairly crappy cheesy games, and really emphasizing buying as many accessories (that all suck) as possible. Not saying its wrong, but to someone who knows what they are doing....
IMHO Nintendo LETS bad games get dev'd.

You guys are all about the ratings.
Some of my favorite N64 games got horrible ratings.
Ratings on gamespot don't usually mean anything.
Nintendo games are fucking fun. 'Nuff said.
Examples.
PLX.
Not just gamespot, give 3 sources (not shitty sources) where it is criticized unfairly.
I rarely find a game thats GOOD that gets below a 6.
