Nintendo has officially confirmed that the 3DS family will be welcoming a new color in just a handful of weeks. On May 20, the new Midnight Purple 3DS will go on sale in the States, joining the ranks of the Aqua Blue, Cosmo Black, Flame Red and Pearl Pink models.

This new 3DS will sale for $169.99, the same price as the other models. It will be available for purchase the same day as the 3DS title Mario Tennis Open.
