IGN and gamespots only requirment is ratting games on how much hype they have, the more hype a game gets, the higher the expected ratting. God forbid they actually give a call of duty bellow a 9 or 8
CoD will always be a game with a lot of bias and anyone who gives it what its worth will be shot down and fired. They can't rate a game low that millions of people will buy regardless of if its better/worse, so to save drama they give CoD good ratings. A CoD fan will always be a CoD fan, those who aren't won't turn into ones either.
As i said with longer games like rpg's gamespot and ign are required to play through the whole game with a certain amount of hours before they form an opinion. Lesser recognized sites release their guides earlier to gain popularity without even having spent the hours in the game.
