My fucking god. It isn't a general consensus, it's a compilation of tournament results. And since tournament results factor into character's placing on the tier list, why would Nintendo or Sora release their own? Do either of them run tournaments?

Only Tournament results cant b used to create a tier list because people are just using the same fucking character over and over, it proves nothing except the best couple characters in the game. People arent bringing shity characters in a tourny so therefore how do u place bad characters in a tier just from tourny results? you cant its just a fucking general consensus.

People DO bring low tier characters to tourneys. They might not place well, but they do go.
And since when was the tier list supposed to prove anything in the first place?It's a ranking of metagames based on a tournament standard environment and results from tournaments. The shitty ass characters with crap matchups and no metagame are supposed to be on the fucking bottom. The SBR is made up of people who actually play tourneys and know the games, unlike Sora/Nintendo; ergo theirs is the official tier list. Sora/Nintendo didn't even want it to be a competitive game, so nothing they did besides create it equates to anything.

Btw, i've red your conversation with stupidkid and i think both of you guys are right. What i mean is, there is a tier list for a reason but those are based on facts and not on the individual perfomances. Lets say there is a really really good captain falcon player that has been playing vs. good MK players for a very long time, chances are, he does know how to play against them and is more likely to win because he gathered a large experience. My point is, a character tier list should NEVER be an excuse of you losing to them.
