Getting the Zelda Wii U for Christmas

gonna get pikmin 3, almost done super mario 3d world

anyone have any opinions on pikmin 3??

i never really played it much cus i didnt have a gamecube

mom is getting me MH3 ultimate for christmas, sooo id be down to play with some of u folks, i played Tri so im not new to the game at all

I'm looking to get a Wii U for the family, but I have a few random questions before I pull the trigger. Thanks for any help.

1) I heard the Wii U can play NES/SNES games like the Wii could. If this is true, can they be played on the gamepad?

2) You can control the cable box with the gamepad, right? Can you watch TV on the actual gamepad while someone plays another console on the TV?

3) To play a game with 2 players, do I need another gamepad or does 2P just use a Wii U Pro controller etc?

1. yes there are nes/snes games on wii virtual shop. No can't be played with tablet/gamepad controller

2. You can control your TV, i dont know about cable box, dont have one. The

3. Wiiu only supports one gamepad, you can use a regular old wii mote for multiplayer or the pro controller

Thank you for the quick answers. Hopefully someone can expand on #2. Also, can the Wii U games be played solely on the Gamepad while someone watches TV?

as far as i know you can buy games in wii mode and play them in gamepad mode

you can't watch tv on the gamepad but you can play some wiiu games and wii games axclusively on it and watch something else on your tv

you can have them play through the gamepad but you can't use the gamepad as a controller, have to use a wiimote or w.e to play em
