Really hoping Nintendo might try a price slash around or prior to the release of the XB1/PS4.

Anyone expecting something like this?

i am
i dont think they will have a choice
wiiu is doing terribly
will be doing even worse with the 400$ ps4 to compete with

im not saying its 100% sure, because you never know, wiiu could gain a surge in popularity due to its new games coming out
but i doubt it, the new games shown looks meh as fuck

I thought Titan fall looked putrid. I am far more excited for Killzone.

many people talked about different ways to make the WiiU more compelling to the public and so far one of the boldest and most interesting idea has came from nintendo themselves

http://mynintendonews.com/2013/06/19/nintendo-is-open-to-the-idea-of-a-free-to-play-animal-crossing/

Animal Crossing lead designer Katsuya Eguchi says that Nintendo is open to the idea of creating a free-to-play Animal Crossing game which features micro transactions. Eguchi said that the first thing the development team would need to do is to look at what content will be available for free at the beginning. He concluded by saying that Nintendo would ultimately have to find a business model that works.

“I think the main thing that we need to think about before even considering doing something like that is to determine what we’re going to make available from the beginning. I think that’s key in deciding whether we do something like that. If I find a business model that works, however — that works for Nintendo and the end-user — then I can’t say that [free-to-play] is something we wouldn’t consider.”

they didnt mention which console it'd be for but seeing how New leaf sells on 3ds (very very well :) ) and how the WiiU is lagging behind it wouldnt surprise me if the next home console AC game was free to play

what do you guys think?

I don't think I agree with this at all. :/

Although I'm the kind of guy who plays a total of 3-5 different games per year, but will log 1000's of hours on them. SSB and MH3U alone are enough for me to buy a WiiU, not to mention Pikmin, Mario 3D, and (maybe) Mario Kart. And you know LoZ is will eventually release something major down the line. ^_^
