ya HH can be good, just remember don't cheerlead (aka stand back and mainly do buffing)
I loved HH users who could do stuff like stop stam depletion when I dual bladed in MH3U

I did some in Apex Jho hunt, but last night did meet a noob user against Fatalis. Man she keep spam cold and wrong buff.

I'll have to start practicing. Gs is getting boring. Tho its powerful. Used to be a gunner in mh tri. May pick that up as well. Why are there 3 bowguns this time around? HBG is more powerful than gs I read?

GS is for noobs, go DB or some tough weapons like HH.

Insect Glaive is OP. Just buff up and start spam jumping on monster and you won't need GS or hammer. With DB combo you can melt any monster super fast.

although mounting effectiveness drops each time you do it so in the end if overdone it ends up being less DPS apparently

All u need to mount monsters 2-3 times and its almost ready for cap or kill.

Killed a Grank congala with 1 mount. Everything else is burst damage.

That kill took us 1 min and 30 seconds.
