yeah working with limited tools can be rough, enemies are fine but i quickly stepped away from crazy enemy stacks, enemies raining down from above, 1 block wide jumps, leaps of faith, that sort of stuff. But you'll figure out your own style ^^

also look up the exploit to unlock tools faster, it's pretty useful!

there are quite a lot of different ways to make them

this video is more about classic mario level design, it's pretty handy if you want to go that way. basically figure out a challenge for the player before you start making your level, find a way to introduce the player to that challenge in a safe environment, find ways to manipulate the challenge in interesting ways, make the last iteration of your challenge the "logical conclusion" and that's pretty much it.



i went in a bit of a different way with mine, i looked for fun challenges too but figuring them out is part of the challenge so i dont introduce the player to them per say, altough i kinda do in my stage "the great shell adventure" when i think of it.

lmk if you need tips to complete my stages, i see you've tried "unleash the thwomp" which is a bit hard to figure out. it's a ghost house so i made it more puzzle-oriented, well one or two parts of it are at least.

mostly playing smash these days, started attending weekly tournaments in my area so it takes up most of my gaming time
