Depends, if you're playing on the DS they act as furniture and annoyance (they do nothing, sell them).

In the wii version they act as a collectable, thye can be stored by the bar guy (under the museum) if you talk to him for a couple of days.

Also check the beaches since a coconut might wash up, make sure u read where to place it since it cant grow anywhere.

You should google the exact help on how to get foreign fruit, i always type "fruit fruit fruit" in the message and attach the basic fruit... in return i usually get others.
