there's nothing wrong with the original DS...

lighting is fine, battery duration is fine

it's not that horrible..it's still playable outside...

i guess if the person doesn't believe in playing a portable inside, then yea, a light might make more sense as well...but where do you think 99% of gameplay is gonna happen?

ive had the r/l button problem on the original ds, and lighting really is bad on it lol

though when you are buying used, a ds light would be a much better purchase, because an original ds is bound to be much, much older so it will have a more scratched screen and a worse battery life unfortunately.

if you were looking @ new ones though, finding a new ds original imo is the way to go.

In the car etc. Compared to the ds lite the lighting is terrible, but I feel it can definitely take more damage.

tbh it's alright in a car...walking home from the store or maybe school or something it wouldn't be the best.

but yea those things are fucking tanks =p
